Enchanted

Kind eyes looking at me
as if I’m the most precious thing in the world
A charming smile
that makes me forget
all the bad days I have had
A face with an earnest expression
haunting my dreams
So I struggle to stay awake
then it haunts
my every waking moment
A deep rich voice
with a hint of whiskey
making me me spell-bound
every time I hear it
So I avoid listening to it
But now I can hear it
even in the rustling of leaves
and in the deadly silence of night
it soothes me and lull me to oblivion
A stranger with no name
who appears and disappears
at his own whim
As predictable as a stormy sea
dangerous as an unexplored wilderness
He has captured my heart with
unspoken promises of
adventures and life
